About me: Dominican, designer graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a BFA in Accessory and Footwear Design. In love with the art of shoe making, I spent 2 months in Savannah, GA. under a mentorship from Marcell Mrsan, Master Footwear Maker, learning much more about design, balance and patterns. Then, with the desire to start my brand, I did a master's degree in Advanced Design Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Elisava, Barcelona. For a whole year I worked on developing my brand, making the decision to work on a small scale and with sustainable materials and practices. In the process, I discovered that my passion for helping the environment and leading a sustainable life was just as great as my passion for design and fashion. Since then I work to achieve a balance between my two passions.
Anabel Palamara was founded under the idea that we should not have to compromise our love for fashion for our commitment and duty to the planet and its inhabitants. We set out to find a balance by practicing sustainable fashion, investigating every part of the process, from production until it reaches the hands of the customer. Part of our process is to work on-demand, our pieces are created at the time of order, thus avoiding overproduction and discarded items. Our materials are carefully selected, seeking in them the certifications that give us confidence that their origin and production were ethical and responsible. As a small company we continue to learn and grow day by day, we do our best to fulfill our promise to our customers and the planet, always with an open mind to changes and improvements.
